If the
three Renovations Referendum propositions totaling
$19.6 million are approved
by the voters on
December 9, 2009, the
Board of Education will borrow money to complete the
following 14 projects over the next 3 to 4 summers.
An important note on costs: The
figures below are estimates prepared by our
architects. Actual costs will be determined by
seeking bids from contractors, but in no case can
the Board of Education exceed the total amount authorized by the voters.
If actual bids come in higher than these estimates,
some projects will have to be scaled back (for
instance, by replacing fewer single-pane windows or
exterior doors).
The district hopes that in the current
economy, some contractors will be hungry enough for
work to give us even lower bids than estimated
below, which could potentially give us the funds to
replace more windows or more square feet of roofing,
etc.
