To all students interested in applying to the BH-BL Math Honor Society, the final deadline for completed applications is Friday, Feb. 16. You may pick up an application from your math teacher. Please return completed applications by the end of the school day on Friday, Feb. 16 to Mrs. Durant or Mrs. Erickson's Room.
Any student planning on participating in a spring sport must see their school nurse to receive a yellow sports clearance form before the first day of tryouts/practice. See the nurse even if you played a winter or fall sport. If you need an updated physical the School Doctor will be offering free sports physicals during the school day at the High School and Middle School on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Sign up in the nurse's office.
One of the many great opportunities offered by the BH-BL Friends of Music is a Mini-Grant program. Students may apply for financial assistance with things such as the purchase of an upgraded instrument, mouthpiece, supplies, private lessons, and tuition at a Summer Music Program. See your music teacher for an application, which is due by Feb. 28.
The Jailbreak Tournament will take place during AAP from Feb. 13 through Feb. 15. The Dodgeball Tournament will take place during AAP from Feb. 27 through Mar. 1. Teams must register by Feb. 8 to compete. Registration forms are available from Mr. Bucci in Room 231 or from Mrs. Summersell in Room 125. There will be a Mandatory Captain's meeting on Thursday, Feb. 8 in Room 231.
The Class of 2019 will be selling popcorn during homeroom in the school store area for $1 from Monday, Feb. 12 through Friday, Feb. 16.
The Class of 2020 is selling Krause's candy! 50% of the proceeds go to the class. Order sheets and payment must be returned to Mrs. Grassmann in Room 134 by Friday, Feb. 16. Feel free to come to Mrs. Grassmann or Mrs. Austro with any concerns.

Prom season is just 3 1/2 months away. We need your help! This time of the year is very expensive for most if not all of you. We are asking if you have a gently used suit, prom dress, shoes or formal accessories at home that are collecting dust, donate it to Room 207/209! We are hoping to help with the expense of some of your peers by offering them free prom dresses and/or shoes and accessories.
The NYSSMA Instrumental Jazz/Vocal Jazz Festival (Shaker Jr. High School - June 1-2) deadline is Friday, March 2. Information and applications are available in the High School Fine Arts Office, the Middle School Music Office, and from you school Music Teacher.
Tickets will go on sale during lunch from Mar. 9-29. Tickets are $70 and checks should be made payable to the BH-BL Class of 2018.
The Follies will take place on Apr. 13-14 in the High School Auditorium. Auditions will be held on Monday, Mar. 26 from 6 until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, Mar. 27 from 2:30 until 5:30 p.m. in the Middle School Cafetorium.
The French PEACE exchange is looking for families willing to host students from France for a two-week stay during the month of Oct. There is no fee to host and you do not need to be a French student. All students speak English very well and are eager to experience life here at BH-BL. We need many host families so please see Mme Noll if you are interested.

Glens Falls Hospital is hosting a High School to Healthcare event on Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 6 until 8 p.m. The even is open to students in grades 9-12, this program will showcase opportunities in healthcare and show students how to achieve their healthcare career goals. There will be interactive stations staffed by healthcare professionals with hands-on activities as well as opportunities to see some of the equipment.
