Congratulations BH-BL art students

The following students artwork has been chosen for the Saratoga All-Stars Art Exhibition!  The show runs from Jan. 14 thru Feb. 25 at The Arts Center Gallery in Saratoga Springs, with an opening reception on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 3 p.m.  Ms. Capobianco's students: Emily Lavoy; Gabby Basil; and Blake Wadsworth, Mrs. Layden's students: Annabella Zocco; Shayna Connally; and Abigail Evans, Mrs. Corrigan's students: Billie McCloskey; Sarah Russo; and Morgan Woodbeck.

Legally Blonde costume help needed - Preview, Jan. 24

Anyone interested in helping with costumes for Legally Blonde should see Mrs. Manning.  If you would like to come in to preview Legally Blonde the musical to get costume ideas and some insight, please join Mrs. Manning on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 9 a.m. in Room 209.  You must R.S.V.P. to Mrs. Manning if you plan on attending.  Snacks will be provided!

"Screenagers",  date changed to Jan. 25

Faculty, staff, students, and community members are invited to attend a free viewing of the film "Screenagers" on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.  The film focuses on the impact of the digital age (video games, social media, texting, etc.) on today's youth.  Immediately following the screening, a panel of BH-BL educators (social worker, counselors, and administrators) will host a discussion of the film and answer questions from the audience.

NYC Drama Club trip, Jan. 25

All students going on the NYC Drama Club trip on Jan. 25 need to pick up a bus permission form from Mrs. Derrick.

BH-BL Friends of Music Mini-Grant, deadline - Feb. 28

The BH-BL Friends of Music offers a Mini-Grant program.  Students are encouraged to apply for financial assistance for the purchase of music instruments, equipment, and supplies, private lessons on a band or orchestra instrument, and summer music camp tuition.  See a music teacher for an application.  The application deadline is Feb. 28.

NYSSMA Instrumental and Vocal Solo Festival, Apr. 7-8

The NYSSMA Instrumental and Vocal Solo Festival will take place at Bethlehem Middle School on Apr. 7-8, 2017.  Students wishing to participate in the solo festival should fill out an application and pay the fee by Friday, Jan. 20, 2017.  Applications can be found on the school website under Fine Arts Forms, and are also available from Music Teachers.  Past participants should note that fees have changed.  Checks should be made payable to BH-BL Schools.

Unified Bowling meeting, Jan. 18

There will be a Unified Bowling meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 18 during AAP in Room 203.  If you are interested in joining the team, please stop by and get more information and paperwork.  If you cannot make the meeting, please see Mrs. Passante in Room 201.

Boys Tennis interest meeting, Jan. 31

There will be a Boys Tennis interest meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 31 during AAP in the Red Room.

Have you lost Athletic gear?

Attention student athletes - if you have lost any personal belongings on a sports bus, please see Mrs. Ostrom in the Athletic Office to claim your items.

Fitness Center open

The high school fitness center will be open for students on Mondays and Fridays from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. and on Wednesday's from 3:30 until 5 p.m.

LeFont meeting, Jan. 19

LeFont will hold a meeting on Thursday, Jan. 19 during AAP in Room 116.  All are welcome to attend to help plan the next Coffee House.

International Club bake sale, Jan. 30 thru Feb. 2

International Club will host a bake sale from Monday, Jan. 30 thru Thursday, Feb. 2 during homeroom behind the library.

Math Club meeting, Feb. 1

The next Math Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 1 during AAP in Room 125.  This will be a build day!  The group will build a giant SOMA cube.  Please sign up ahead of time with Ms. Litynski as space is limited!


Counseling Center News

PSAT Scores

Students who took the PSAT test are receiving their scores and booklets in homeroom on Friday, Dec. 23.  Please read through the information carefully so you understand what the scores mean and can access opportunities to improve your scores.  Students can see their school counselor after the break for further explanation if needed.  Reminder that students do have free prep through Khan Academy as well as through Naviance.
