Congratulations to Evan Karl for placing third and Jonathan Sinopoli for placing second in their sessions at the Eastern Junior Science and Humanities Sub-regional Symposium. Jon will now present a poster at the State level.
The National PTA developed the Reflections program in 1969 to interest children, parents, teachers and communities in the arts. This year's contest theme was "What's Your Story". Students created a piece of artwork, took a photograph, or wrote a story about the theme. Congratulations to the students from BH-BL High School whose work will be judged at the New York State Level after winning at the Regional Level:

The BH-BL Friends of Music offers a Mini-Grant program. Students are encouraged to apply for financial assistance for the purchase of music instruments, equipment, and supplies, private lessons on a band or orchestra instrument, and summer music camp tuition. See a music teacher for an application. The application deadline is Feb. 28.
Anyone who is planning to participate in a spring sport must see their school nurse to receive a yellow sports clearance form before the first day of tryouts/practice. See the school nurse even if you played a winter or fall sport. If you need an updated physical, the school doctor will be offering free sports physicals during the day at the High School and Middle School on Wednesday, Mar. 1 - sign up in the nurse's office.
The Dodgeball Tournament is from Tuesday, Feb. 28 thru Mar. 2 during AAP in the gym. See Mr. Bucci or Mrs. Summersell for a signup sheet. Team entries are due on Feb. 16 including the $5 per person. There is a mandatory captains meeting on Feb. 28 at 2:30 p.m. in the gym before the game begins.
The Class of 2020 fundraiser is underway. Please help the class by selling Krause's candy to your family and friends. All completed packets and payments are due by Friday, Mar. 3 to Mrs. Austro in Room 109 or Mrs. Grassmann in Room 111.
All participants in the French Exchange should check their school email for some important deadlines and information from Madame Noll. There is a required student meeting during AAP on Mar. 7.

Interested students should seek contact information from the Volunteer Board in the Counseling Center regarding a volunteer opportunity for a student with solid writing skills to serve on a community based newsletter in Charlton.
Students who took the PSAT test are receiving their scores and booklets in homeroom on Friday, Dec. 23. Please read through the information carefully so you understand what the scores mean and can access opportunities to improve your scores. Students can see their school counselor after the break for further explanation if needed. Reminder that students do have free prep through Khan Academy as well as through Naviance.
