Grade 6 Supply List

Assignment/Agenda Books

The O’Rourke Middle School will be providing an assignment/agenda book for all middle school students. Students will be expected to use it throughout the year to record assignments. Below is an initial list of supplies. Individual teachers will request additional supplies on the first day of class, (i.e. binders or notebooks). We encourage you not to purchase Trapper Keeper notebooks since there is limited space in desks/lockers. We also recommend purchasing plastic, pocket folders for each class since they are more durable than other styles of folders. A book bag/backpack will also be needed. This will be kept in homeroom or lockers throughout the day. Please do not purchase oversized bags or bags with wheels because they will not fit in lockers. Remember to label all supplies with your name and homeroom.

PE Lock

All students will need to bring in $5 to purchase a lock for their PE locker. This will be collected on the first day of Physical Education class. When students purchase the lock directly from the PE Department, the lock is replaceable for the entire three years that students are at the middle school (i.e. lost, stolen, etc.). Students should be prepared for PE with a t-shirt/sweatshirt and shorts along with athletic socks and sneakers. Elementary PE uniforms are fine.

School Lockers

Your child may or may not have an assigned locker in homeroom. If they do, one lock will be provided for their use. Please note a school provided lock is the property of the school district and will be collected at the end of the school year. If a lock is misplaced, a replacement may be purchased through the Main Office for $5.

Cinch Bag for Chromebook

Students will be required to use a drawstring-style cinch bag to carry their school-issued chromebook computer. Many families have already purchased a Lands End® cinch bag from the middle school. If you have not done so, your student may purchase a Lands End® cinch bag in September for $13. Each Lands End® cinch bag is very durable, has a custom embroidered logo and carries the Lands End® lifetime guarantee. Students will use this bag each of their 3 years in the middle school. The bag can then follow the student to the high school. Checks should be made payable to: BH-BL CSD.

Grade 7 Supply List

In an effort to increase and maintain organizational skills in our students, we are color coding subject materials. Each subject is designated a certain color, which should be used for binders, folders, etc. If you cannot find a certain color binder, then simply get another neutral color and add a front sheet or sticker. As always, recycled items are acceptable and encouraged. We believe that this system, which is mirrored in the elementary schools and sixth grade, will help the students have a more successful year.

One combination lock will be provided to each 7th grade student for use on their homeroom locker.
