The entire BH-BL 8th-grade class participated in the school's 18th annual Community Service Day. In total, the students ended up delivering nearly 500 hours of of community service through various charitable acts--such as working with children, seniors, and people with disabilities; organizing and preparing food for local shelters; and making blankets, tote bags, and crafts for children in area hospitals.
"This is an amazing accomplishment and we are really proud of our students," said advisors Lindsay Armbruster and Melissa Buyce. "In fact, we heard from several agencies that our students were fantastic providers and were so eager to help out in a variety of capacities."
The goal of the program is to help students grow personally, intellectually, and socially as 21st century learners, while embracing the spirit of volunteerism.
