Charlton Heights students taking Coding Club with teachers Lauren Kritz and Chris Deso got their hands wet as they dove into a new project making water pianos.
The students, using the software program “Scratch,” first learned how to code piano keys on their computers. Then they used Makey Makeys, which are circuit boards that are plugged into a computer and act like keyboards, to create closed loop electrical signals (or complete circuits) between their computers and cups of water. The end result is a water piano that they could actually play by putting their fingers into the different cups of water.
