About Naviance Family Connection

We are pleased to offer Family Connection from Naviance, a web-based service designed especially for high school students and parents. Family Connection is a comprehensive website that you can use for help in making decisions about colleges, careers and scholarships.

Students have been provided with a personal access code and instructions for accessing and creating a Family Connection account. For more information, please contact the counseling center or refer to the yellow "Your Next Step" booklet that was handed out in the spring.

Naviance Instructions

  • Go to and log on to Family Connection. Use the personal registration code to create your Family Connection account. The code is the e-mail provided to your counselor in the spring. Your password is your first and last name in lowercase letters.
  • Review your options. As a BH-BL user, you can check out the latest information posted by our counseling center, conduct research on colleges, review scholarship opportunities or link to valuable websites.
  • Keep your counselor up to date. As you do research and make your career and college plans, be sure to touch base regularly with your counselor. If you change your e-mail, be sure to update your records in Family Connection.

More Information on Family Connection

On the BH-BL Family Connection homepage, you can see a list of important events or click on the "College" tab at the top of the page link to one of the following areas:

  • College Compare. Enter names of colleges and compare SAT and ACT scores of accepted students.
  • College Lookup. Start here to research a specific college. We recommend that students visit the college’s individual website for the most up-to-date information. There is a direct link to the website on each college’s Naviance homepage.
  • SuperMatch College Search. Students can enter criteria for their desired type(s) of schools and generate a list of schools that meet these criteria. A student can then follow links to general information and statistics about a college, as well as to an individual college’s web page for deeper investigation.
  • College Resources. Links to a variety of college, financial aid and career-related websites.
  • Scattergrams. Plots test scores of the colleges you select.
  • Acceptance History. See how many BH-BL graduates were accepted to and attended individual colleges and universities.
  • Scholarship List. Get details on available scholarships, including qualifications, deadlines and application information.
