Dear Parents,
Junior year is an exciting time as your child starts to plan for life after high school. We hope the information provided is helpful and answers your questions about careers, colleges, and next steps in your child’s future. Please contact your child’s counselor with any questions or concerns!

HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELING CENTER WEBSITE

There are many resources for parents to access as your child moves through high school including; Volunteer opportunities, college in high school courses, CHS certificate of residency info, working papers, curriculum guide, honor societies, precollege summer programs, scholarships, financial aid info, as well as career and college resources. Click HERE.

CAREER PLANNING

In 9th and 10th grades, counselors conducted classroom presentations focused on career exploration. We also introduced students to Naviance and the many features available to help students explore careers. This April, school counselors will present to 11th graders in classrooms. Students will use Naviance to continue exploring careers and spend time researching the educational requirements for the careers they may be interested in. This is important as your child starts making plans for after high school and if they should pursue college, training, apprenticeships, military, or employment.

There are multiple paths you can take after you finish high school. Some students will choose to attend college while others are excited to become part of the workforce.  See resources below for additional information.
